The Restoration Path

The CARE Program
Pete Huntsinger, CDP®

The CARE Program (Comprehend, Adapt, Renew, and Empower) serves families at two points in the dementia journey, those currently in the evaluation process who are noticing changes and seeking answers, and those who have received a formal dementia diagnosis and need education, tools, and support to understand what they are now living with and where they are headed.

The CARE Program is a private, two-hour psychoeducational support program for dementia care partners and their families, delivered via Zoom to one family at a time.  It teaches families what dementia is doing to the brain and why their loved one is behaving differently. Families leave The CARE Program with the education to understand the disease, the practical tools to adapt to a changing relationship, the emotional resilience to sustain the journey, and the resources to return to as their loved one’s needs change.

The Restoration Path
Tamara Huntsinger, LMFT
Pete Huntsinger, CDP®

The Restoration Path goes deeper into the grief, the relational weight, the family conflict, and the emotional arc of the caregiving journey that education alone cannot reach.

Complex family issues of role reversal and the parentification of adult children, mourning the loss of the spousal relationship, sibling dynamics, boundary ambiguity for families facing the decisions that have no clean answer and communication collapse for families where established ways of communicating have broken down and nothing seems to work anymore. Finally, the the emotional arc of caregiving for the care partner carrying the full emotional weight of the journey.  These are not therapy sessions. Tamara’s work is not psychotherapy. Tamara holds the relational and emotional weight with depth, understanding,  and over thirty years of clinical experience.

We Remain By Your Side

Dementia is not a moment. It is a journey and it asks more of families at every stage than the stage before it. Caregiving arrives at inconvenient moments, asks impossible questions, and changes the rules without warning. The CARE Program prepares families for the road ahead. The Restoration Path supports them as the journey deepens. And when something shifts, a new behavior, a harder decision, a new stage that no one anticipated, a moment of grief that has no name, Pete and Tamara show up. Not once. Not for a program and then goodbye. For the full length of the road, as many times as the family needs them, for as long as the journey continues. That is what Managing the Day Today® was built for. We remain by your side.
