Meet our Team
The CARE Program and The Restoration Path
Pete and Tamara Huntsinger are a husband and wife team who built Managing the Day Today® out of a shared belief that families navigating dementia deserve education, support, and someone who genuinely understands both the disease and the human experience of living with it. Together they share a commitment to remain by your side for as long as the journey continues.

The CARE Program (Comprehend, Adapt, Renew, and Empower)
Pete Huntsinger is a Certified Dementia Practitioner by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP), is certified in Brain Injury Fundamentals by the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS) and the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) with additional training in ADHD and Executive Function care. He co-founded Managing the Day Today® after recognizing that families receive a dementia diagnosis and are then left to figure out the rest on their own. Pete’s work is built on a straightforward belief, that education changes outcomes. When families understand what dementia is doing to the brain, why their loved one is behaving differently, and how to respond effectively, daily life gets better for everyone involved. Pete facilitates The CARE Program, a psychoeducational support program that gives care partners and families the knowledge, the practical tools, and the emotional foundation to navigate the caregiving journey with greater clarity and confidence. He works with families at every stage, from the first signs that something has changed through diagnosis, progression, and the decisions that come with each new stage of the disease. Pete holds the CDP® certification from the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, is certified in Brain Injury Fundamentals by the Brain Injury Association of America, has extensive ADHD Executive Function training, and is registered with the California Department of Social Services.
Tamara Huntsinger
Emotional Wellness Coach | Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | Mindfulness Specialist
The Restoration Path
Tamara Huntsinger is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than thirty years of clinical experience in CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches. She is also an Emotional Wellness Coach and Mindfulness Specialist who co-founded Managing the Day Today® with a deep understanding of what dementia asks of the people surrounding it, the grief, the role transitions, the relational weight, and the existential questions that caregiving inevitably raises. Tamara’s work with dementia care partners and families is called The Restoration Path, built around the specific family dynamics that most caregiving families navigate alone. Her work is not psychotherapy. It is an experienced, skilled, deep dive into the situations that require more than information to address, the spousal grief of ambiguous loss, the adult child who has become the parent, the sibling conflict that dementia has activated, and the care partner who has been carrying the full emotional weight of the journey in silence. Tamara brings thirty years of clinical depth to every session, the kind of presence that knows what sits beneath the surface and how to work with it skillfully. Care partners and family members leave The Restoration Path with greater emotional clarity, increased coping capacity, and the understanding that what they are carrying is real, it is significant, and they do not have to carry it alone.
